Southern Wastes
This time the lights shone above them among the peaks where the fortress known as Mountain Station overlooked both flanks of the range. Snow crowned the heights and the air was frosty.

"Chapter IX: Into the Wastes", III

The Apollynes, or the Apollyne mountain range,[1] are a mountain range that parallels the Rim of the Escarpment. The Apollynes are highly terraced.[1][2] The foothills are rocky, have lots of shrubs.[3]

Between the two lies the Betwixt Valley, a fertile, irrigated stretch of farmland. The Icon Pass runs through the mountains.
