This story grew out of a line in God Stalk about Penari's Maze being so complex that even its own architect got lost in it. From there, it just grew.

"Bones" is a short story involving Jame, Patches, Penari and the Maze, set in Tai-tastigon. It was published in the anthology Blood and Ivory: A Tapestry and has also been included in some printings collecting God Stalk with Dark of the Moon.[5]
