Caldane’s ambition had always been clear. To him, Honor’s Paradox was a way to avoid responsibility while reaping its rewards. He would gladly break the Kencyrath to his liking, as long as enough of it remained for him to rule.
– Torisen's narration, The Sea of Time, "Chapter XX: A Season of Fog", VII
Caldane, Lord Caineron of Restormir, is the current head of the Caineron.
Caldane has numerous children, with mothers from nearly every house in the Kencyrath. Torisen once said he was "prolific enough to sire offspring on a mule." His eldest son Genjar was his favorite. Caldane currently has seven established sons. Grondin is the first, Higron the sixth, and Tiggeri the seventh. Grotley is one too. This accounts for 4 of the 7. Caldance has plenty more sons, who are not established, such as Nusair and Gorbel, as well his daughters, like Kallystine and Lyra. Lastly, he has bastards, like Graykin.

↑Dark of the Moon, "Chapter 6: The High Council" — " 'Look at Caineron. He has children and grandchildren with mothers from nearly every house in the Kencyrath.' Torisen gave a snort of laughter. 'Don't I know it. That man is prolific enough to sire offspring on a mule.' 'I daresay. Caldane's fancy has been known to wander. I could tell you tales of his exploits in Karkinaroth some twenty years ago… but never mind. The point is that the bloodlines of his legitimate children form a net of power,' "
