Erim, clumsy, beetle-browed, and slow of speech, who looked stupid but, she suspected, wasn't.
Jame's narration, To Ride a Rathorn,
"Chapter V: A Length of Rope", I

Erim is a Knorth randon cadet at Tentir. He is one of Jame's ten-command.

He's known for being an archer with impeccable aim,[2][3] although he can't shoot living things.[4] Because of his amazing aim, Jame suspects that the time he tripped and threw a bowl of soup in Vant's face was on purpose.[5]

His subsequent shots hit a half-inch sapling, a rabbit hole, and the sergeant's hat. He could hit anything, he admitted afterward, somewhat shame-faced, as long as it wasn't alive."
  5. To Ride a Rathorn, "Chapter IX: School Days", I — "Vant was always finding fault with one or another of them, for example when Erim tripped over his own feet and more or less threw a bowl of soup in Vant's face (Jame wondered about that: Erim might be clumsy, but he had very good aim),"
