God Stalk was the first of P. C. Hodgell's Kencyr series.
It deals with Jame's year in Tai-tastigon after fleeing the Master's House.

A partial version of the novel initially appeared in Clarion Science Fiction (edited by Kate Wilhelm, Berkley).
The full version was published by Atheneum Publishers in 1982
The paperback was published by Berkley in 1983.
