Marplet sen Tenko is the proprietor of the Skyrrman inn in Tai-tastigon. He has a son, Niggen, whom he hates,[1] and a cat, Fang, whom he likes.[2]
Marplet began building the Skyrrman in the Red Wax District illegally, as Tubain had a tavern charter for the whole district. Marplet was not stopped, however, since his brother-in-law, his sister's husband Harr sen Tenko, was the one in charge of enforcing it. Marplet began an undeclared trade war the the Skyrrman, trying to goad them into attacking, at which point he would be able to accuse them of being the instigators, and they would have to pay an enormous fine for it, and they would be driven out of business.[3]
