The setting sun cupped between the white slopes of Mounts Timor and Tinnabin spilled its crimson light down the hidden paths by which the first caravan would travel the next week.
Jame's narration, God Stalk,
"Chapter 7: The Feast of Fools"

Mount Timor is one of the Ebonbane mountains that is close to Tai-tastigon. The Blue Pass, which Jame and Marc take after leaving the city, passes between Mount Timor and Mount Tinnabin.[1]

There are stories of a great cat on Mount Timor that has outwitted generations of hunters that is named the Mount Timor Cat; it has been known to help caravans caught by the snows.[2] Jame guesses correctly that this is an Arrin-ken, and when they meet it in Dark of the Moon we find it is named Immalai, the Silent One.

  1. Dark of the Moon, "Chapter 1: Fire and Ice" — "Jame could see nothing of Mounts Timor and Tinnibin, which must be looming over them now, or of the Blue Pass, which cut between them, straddling the spine of the Ebonbane."
  2. God Stalk, Book II: Crown of Nights, "Chapter 7: The Feast of Fools" — " 'Anyone who's ever lived on the slopes of the Ebonbane can tell you about the Mount Timor Cat and how it's outwitted generations of hunters. Its even been known to help caravans caught by the snows.' "
