This article is about Kirien's great-great-grandfather. For the Jaran title Jedrak, see Jedrak.

The bundle of furs in the chair to the left of his own raised its head. It was Jedrak, Lord Jaran. Green light from the window mottled his bald pate like mold. His nearly toothless mouth stretched in a lopsided, welcoming smile.
Torisen's narration, Dark of the Moon,
"Chapter 6: The High Council"

Jedrak, Lord Jaran of Valantir, was the previous head of the Jaran. He died in his camp bed with the Kencyr Host on their journey towards the Battle of the Cataracts, at 160 years old, soon after senility caught up with him.[2]

Jedrak made his great-great-granddaughter Kirien his de-facto lordan,[2] although he was not able not get her confirmed before he died. It was his deathbed wish.[3] Kedan, Kirien, and eventually Torisen defended Jedrak's decision after his death, and eventually got Kirien confirmed.[1]

Shanir[]

Like all lords and matriarchs, Jedrak was Shanir with the power to bind Kencyr to him.
