Jame continued eastward until she came to a low section of the Old Wall at the end of a street. Beyond it, there was a sharp drop down to the floor of the Rim, that relatively new district that circled the city between the old and inner walls.
Jame's narration, God Stalk,
"Chapter 3: Into the Labyrinth"

The Rim District of Tai-tastigon is the area between the ruined Old Wall and the newer Curtain Walls.[1] It has broad, straight, open avenues—in contrast to the chaos of the older parts of the city[2]—while its streets that are parallel to the wall curve gently.[3] It takes Jame two hours to walk a quarter of the way around the Rim District; at an average walking speed of three miles per hour, this would make the entire circumference approximately 24 miles, the diameter of the city somewhere between seven and eight miles, and the area just under fifty square miles.
