You should meet my cousin Roane. He likes to play games too.
Rawneth, To Ride a Rathorn,
"Chapter XXII: Casting the Stones", V

Roane was a Randir randon cadet with Greshan who encourages Greshan's cruel tendencies.[1] He was a cousin and favorite of Rawneth.[2] He dies when Ganth, tormented by them and apparently about to be raped by Greshan, snaps into a berserker rage and kills him with a knife, pinning him to the floor with it.

  1. Blood and Ivory: A Tapestry, "Hearts of Woven Shadow" — "Ganth knew, instinctively, that the Randir was drinking one cup to every three of the Knorth Lordan, while seeming to keep pace. Roane had been the Heir's shadow ever since Ganth had come to Tentir, and probably before that. Together, they concocted the various cruel 'jokes' for which Greshan was becoming famous."
  2. To Ride a Rathorn, "Chapter VII: In the Bear's Den", I — " 'When your father Ganth was a cadet here, he was present at the death of a Randir named Roane—a cousin and favorite of the Witch of Wilden, as it turned out.' "
