Master Tane was a former rival of Theocandi for the Sirdan's seat.

In 3019,^{(see calculations)} when Theocandi was up for re-election, Tane ran against him. He was killed by the Shadow Thief; Theocandi was blamed, but it was never proven.^[1]^[2]^[3]
